Enjoy an introduction to what skulls can tell you about behavior by looking at some local Indiana mammals. All animals have adaptations that help them survive and thrive in their environment. Several of those adaptations can be seen by looking at their skulls. For instance, what is their diet- do they eat meat, vegetables, grass or maybe a combination? How do they find their food or protect themselves? Are the mammals in our neighborhoods hunters, the hunted, or both? During this activity you will work through these questions and more while looking at the skulls of some of the animals you see in your own backyard and parks in Indiana.
