What is an Audiologist?

Learn about how we help people hear better, protect their hearing, and sometimes even hear for the first time!

How Do We Hear

  • See what YOUR eardrum looks like with our video otoscope
  • See the “dancing” hair cells that live in your inner ear
  • Learn about how noise can damage these dancing hair cells and how to protect them AND your hearing
  • Learn about what life sounds like with a cochlear implant
  • Pick up some free ear plugs!

Fun Facts about ears and hearing!

  • Your ears continue to hear sounds even AFTER you fall asleep
  • The malleus, incus, and stapes of your middle ear are the three smallest bones in your body. ALL THREE could fit on ONE penny!
  • The number one cause of hearing loss is exposure to loud sounds—even mowing your lawn could cause damage!
  • Fish do not have ears, but they can hear pressure changes through ridges on their body
