Earthquake Location with Michael

Join Dr. Michael Hamburger again for a video explaining how seismologists locate earthquakes using seismograms. Then put it into practice with an earthquake location exercise.


Exercise

Complete the earthquake location and magnitude estimation exercise using the Virtual Earthquake Simulator.

Be sure to select the Japan region earthquake and record your answers on a piece of paper.

Then return to our website and answer the quiz questions based on your answers to the activity.
