In the Sciences Library, Room C002

Join the Sciences Library to practice scientific observation and create your own images of natural phenomena! We’ll have items from science and natural history collections like insects, slides to view under a microscope, plants, and even animal skulls. We’ll provide art materials and some examples of scientific illustration through the ages – you provide the close observation and create your own illustrations. (No artistic talent required!)

Throughout the history of science, accurate images of natural phenomena have enlightened us as to the processes of the natural world. Observational skills are essential in science and are an important part of the learning process in general. Stop by and sharpen your own skills! This is a family-friendly event and kids are more than welcome to join in.
